Cloud Library Guide

CloudLink Ontario

Cloud Library

Woodstock Public Library is proud to be the 30th member of CloudLink ON – a group of Ontario public libraries that have come together to share eBooks and eAudiobooks with each other, ultimately increasing the number of books available for our patrons to borrow.

How does CloudLink work?

If an eBook or eAudiobook is available at another participating library, it will show as available to borrow for Woodstock Public Library patrons in cloudLibrary as part of our collection. There is no need to search any other library’s catalogue!

Woodstock Public Library patrons cannot place holds on items from other libraries, just as patrons from other libraries cannot place holds on titles owned by WPL. Titles that are not signed out and do not have a hold list are available through CloudLink, which means you are not competing with patrons from other libraries for high demand titles owned by WPL, and vice versa. If you can place a hold on a title that means WPL owns it.

Titles that WPL owns will appear in our online catalogue as well as through the CloudLibrary app. Titles available through cloudLink will only be visible through the CloudLibrary app. (Don’t’ have the app yet? Find the links to the mobile app and desktop versions on this page or on the eBooks page.)

Due to the nature of CloudLink, you will see titles appear and disappear over time. The reason for this is that as soon as a CloudLink title is borrowed, it will disappear from our collection until it is available to borrow again.

Titles owned by WPL will always be visible in a CloudLibrary search. If an item is checked out, you will have the option to place a hold as per normal. If you can’t find a specific title, you are welcome to submit a Purchase Suggestion to our staff.
