Can't find what you're looking for?

Two hands, one giving the other a bookIf the Woodstock Public Library doesn't have what you're looking for in our catalogue, don't worry! We can often borrow the item from another library. This is a FREE service offered to cardholders at the Woodstock Public Library.

We are able to borrow a wide range of material on interlibrary loan. Here is an outline of what we are normally able to borrow:

  • Books that are more than a year old
  • DVDs and Books on CDS that are more than a year old
  • Other language material
We borrow from a host of great sources, primarily public libraries within Ontario.

Submit a Request

To submit a request for us to look for materials at another library:

  • Phone the Information Services Desk 519-539-4801 during operating hours or;
  • Visit us in person

Although every effort is made to obtain the material you are seeking, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to obtain the item. Due to other libraries' loaning restrictions, we are normally unable to obtain the following items on interlibrary loan:

  • Books, Books on CD, DVDs, Music CDs published within the past 12 months
  • Reference and other non-circulating material

It normally takes between 1-6 weeks for an item to arrive. Once the item is received, we will contact you by telephone to pick up your item. We ask that you pick up your interlibrary loan material as soon as possible, as we are responsible for getting the material back in a timely manner to the loaning library.

Loan Periods and Renewals

Interlibrary loan material is subject to the same overdue charges and fees as Woodstock Public Library materials.

Renewals are not permitted.
