Book a 30-minute session with a librarian to cover a variety of topics, including (but not limited to) downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks, navigating hand-held devices, researching in our local history collection, hands-on tutorials for our online resources, such as Ancestry, NoveList, Hoopla, RBDigital Magazines, Freegal, etc. You decide what you would like to discuss. Choose from the following times:

Thursdays  6:30 - 8:00 pm
Fridays 10:15 - 11:45 am
Saturdays  10:15 - 11:45 am

Brain Games

Mondays, October 2, 16, 23, 30     1:00 - 3:00 pm
Gather in the rotunda area of the library on Monday afternoons for a great workout for the brain. Socialize as you participate in trivia games, Scrabble, and other games that exercise the mind. Refreshments are permitted. 

Writer's Circle

Wednesdays, October 4, 18     6:00 - 8:15 pm
Have you ever wanted to write fiction, craft a memoir or write poetry? Would you like feedback, encouragement and the chance to share with other writers? Then, join our newly formed writer's circle--open to all ages from teen to senior. The group will meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month.

For American Mah-jongg players looking for a friendly game, join us upstairs in the Fiction area on Tuesday mornings throughout July and August. We can accommodate up to 16 players, so first come, first served. 

Creative Space

Wednesdays, October 11, 25     1:00 - 3:00 pm
This is an opportunity to gather and converse with like-minded creative people and share your talents: knitting, needlework, crocheting, sketching--however, you express your creativity. Meet in the fiction area of the Library the second Wednesday of the month. Refreshments are permitted.

Tabletop Gaming Club

(ages 13 to adult)

Drop-in to the Program Room every Friday evening for our Tabletop Gaming Club! Choose from a variety of WPL's games, such as Dungeons & Dragons, or bring one of your own if you're comfortable teaching others to play. Have fun, improve your strategic thinking and take over the world... all in one night!

Seed Library

September to October
Fall is here and it is time to drop off your prized vegetable or flower seeds to add to our seed library. We collect the seeds: they will be packaged over the winter and will be ready for your gardens in the spring.

Harvest Cooking Demonstration with Lisa Friesen of the Plant Inspired Kitchen

Thursday, October 12     7:00 - 9:00 pm
Join us for an evening of inspired plant-based booking. Lisa Friesen of the Plant Inspired Kitchen will demonstrate fall recipes: Corn Chowder, Shredded Kale Salad with shave Apple & Tahini Dressing, Fall Risotto, and Maple Apple Crisp with Pumpkin Ice Cream. No registration required.

Pub Trivia Night

Wednesday, October 18     7:00 - 9:00 pm
Join us at Upper Thames Brewing Company once a month for Pub Trivia, where you and your teammates can test your smarts against other beer enthusiasts. Upper Thames Brewing Co. will sell the drinks and WPL will provide the questions! Participants must be 19 years of age or older.

Big, BIG Book Sale

Then, join our newly formed writer's circle--open to all ages from teen to senior. The group will meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month. No registration required.

It's time to stock up on fall reading material! The Friends of the Woodstock Public Library are having a fall sale of gently used books, DVDs, and audiobooks. Choose from a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction and collectors' items including a complete range of materials for everyone from infants to adults.

The sale will take place in the Library's Meeting Room on Saturday, November 4th from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Funds raised by the Friends are used to enhance library collections and services. Interested in becoming a Friend? Membership is only $10 for a year. Purchase a membership at the circulation desk of from a Friend at the book sale.
