Pick up your monthly kit starting Sat. Dec 18

Take & Make kits have arrived at WPL! A limited number of monthly kits will be available on a first-come-first-served basis at the Children's Information desk. Each kit will include items to create a craft and an instruction sheet for a fun, at-home activity that is sure to engage and entertain!

 

Holiday Story Stroll for Families

December 4-31

Get in the festive spirit this season with a holiday Story Stroll in downtown Woodstock. Browse the festive shop windows along Dundas Street and enjoy a seasonal story with your family.  Download the story route (link coming soon!), follow the path, then finish your stroll at the Woodstock Public Library, where you can pick up an activity kit and coloring page.  Drop off your coloring pages at the library by December 30th to be entered into a contest to win a prize!

Nailed It! Holiday Baking Challenge (Family)

December 1-22

Kids, teens, and families are invited to participate in a Nailed It! style competition to celebrate the holiday season (no professional bakers please). Show us your holiday-themed cake, cookies, or confections for a chance to win a prize and bragging rights! Photo submissions can be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and will be accepted from Dec 1-22. Voting on Facebook will commence Dec 23, and the winner will be announced on Dec 30.

Book Battles for Kids! (3-12 years)

Vote for your favourite children's books in our ultimate battle of the books showdown! Watch for our Book Battles biweekly posts on Saturday mornings. The Battles will be posted on our social media channels where you will be able to vote for your favourites in the comments. The winners will be announced the following Monday.

Stem Lab Special Event - Hour of Code Candy Quest (6-10 years) 

December 6

Participate in the Hour of Code with WPL! This year during Computer Science Education Week, Dec 6-12, we are challenging kids to try something new. Using Tynker, design your own candy troll character and go on a multi-level quest for candy to help your character find its way home. You'll solve coding puzzles while avoiding obstacles and collecting gumdrops and mints. Links to this exciting program will be posted on social media.

Holiday Cooking with Chef Eli (All Ages)

Tue. Dec 21, 7-8 pm

Gather the family and join Chef Eli of the Stratford Chef's School as he guides you through a live Zoom demonstration of a quick and easy holiday recipe. A list of ingredients will be sent to participants in advance so they can join in the cooking fun. Call or visit the library to register for your Zoom invite.
